Overview
Physical and chemical properties
Indium antimonide is a compound of antimony and indium. The metal antimony and indium are obtained by fusion at high temperature. A crystal with a sphalerite structuremelting point: 525℃. CAS : 1312-41-0. Molecular weight: 236.578. Density: 5.78g/cm3. Compound semiconductor with metallic luster, its crystal structure is the same as GaSb, keep the storage container sealed, store in a cool and dry place, and ensure that the workshop has good ventilation or exhaust device.
The single crystal production method is the same as that of GaSb. The horizontal Bridgeman single crystal method can be used, but the crystal pulling method is generally used. In order to obtain high-purity crystals, high-purity raw materials are used.
Application
It is an important material for making infrared detectors with a wavelength of 3 to 5 μm, and is used to make photovoltaic or photoconductive units, multi-element and focal plane infrared detectors and magneto-sensitive devices.
